# User Management

# Organisation members

Users that belong to an organisation are called Organisation members. A user can only belong to one organisation at a time. Members of an organisation all have a specific role. Each organisation must have at least one user with the **Admin** role (see [User roles](/administration/user_roles) for more details).

If a user has the appropriate permissions, they can invite other users to the organisation:

* Existing Cymph users that do not belong to an organisation (they are individuals).
* Non-existing Cymph users by inviting them through e-mail.

At any point in time, organisation members can leave the organisation under the following scenarios:

* They are not assigned the **Admin** role.
* If they are the last member of the organisation. In that case, the organisation will also be deleted.
* If they are not the last member of the organisation, at least one member with the **Admin** role will be left in the organisation after their departure.

# Individuals

Individuals do not belong to any organisation but they have all permissions required to perform all actions in the platform (see [User roles](/administration/user_roles) for more details).

At any point in time, individuals can create an organisation. You can see the steps in [Create an organisation](/settings/create_org). Upon creating an organisation, the user will be automatically assigned the **Admin** role.
